Ring Record
Our own Nürburgring
record is a bit, er,
chequered (one
Porsche, one 328i and
one 730i have bitten the
dust there in our hands in recent
years...) so we take our hats off to
Swedish firm Loaded which has
managed a 7 minute, 22.9-second
lap of the Nordschleife using its modified M3 CSL with touring car driver Richard Goransson at the helm.
The achievement makes the Loaded M3 the fastest road legal BMW in the world,
beating the previous production car record set by the Pagani Zonda F Clubsport.
It’s also a staggering nine seconds faster than the Porsche Carrera GT.
It’s not quite standard though: the Loaded CSL runs around 600 bhp from a
water-cooled Vortec supercharger conversion and Supersprint race exhaust,
together with six-pot AP Racing brakes, adjustable KW race suspension and 11x18
BBS rims with Michelin Pilot Cup R rubber.
See more of the car, plus videos and downloads at www.loaded.se – and if you
fancy owning it, put a bid in on their auction, which is aiming to raise 30,000 Euros
for charity. |
