Germans on track
If the thought of an errant Caterham bursting through the door puts you off the idea
of taking your M3 on track, then new firm German Track is organising the sort of
track day you’re after. As the name suggests, their events are limited to German
cars, which should avoid the track being littered with broken TVR and Lotus debris
for a start. The firm is aiming to create a club-style atmosphere with a selection of
similarly matched cars, but novices are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the
tuition facilities, with professional drivers on hand for advice.
Running an open pit lane format means you can spend as much or as little time on
track as you like, while numbers are limited to 70 cars at a time to give you plenty of
space to keep out of the way of the serious road warriors.
The events will all be held on proper circuits too, rather than airfield venues which
should make for a smoother surface and less potential for damage to the car. German
Track’s first event kicks off at Snetterton on February 25, with more events being
confirmed as we went to press. More details from www.germantrack.com. |
