ACS for UK
Good news for fans of all things AC Schnitzer comes
with the move of the official import franchise for
the UK from BMW(GB) back to Norfolk-based
Rossiters – the firm which originally introduced AC
Schnitzer to us back in 1989.
BMW took over from Rossiters in 1996, but has now decided to
concentrate on its own range of performance products under the
BMW Performance brand, already launched over in the USA.
The AC Schnitzer product range supplied through BMW
dealers tended to be restricted to cosmetic items, but boss
Chris Rossiter points out that the new arrangement means
that his firm will be able to supply the entire Schnitzer range,
from aluminium handbrake trims right up to full tuning
packages. The products will still be available through BMW
dealers too, while Rossiters will be supplying a technical
helpline for customers.
One particularly interesting development is that Rossiters
will be supplying Schnitzer’s tuning parts for the Mini range,
which have never been available in the UK before.
As you’d expect from officially approved gear, AC Schnitzer
parts are made to the highest quality and come with their
own warranty which lasts for the balance of the BMW new car
warranty, so there’s no problem adding them to a brand new car.
Chris tempted us with some exciting ideas including the
idea of working with BMW dealers to provide brand new AC
Schnitzer-modified cars, while we’re expecting to see some
interesting demo cars in the UK soon.
