BMW Classic has commissioned the remanufacture of gear-wheel kits for the original Hurth gearbox installed in the BMW 328.

Specialists from BMW Classic have joined forces with gearbox engineers from supplier, ZF Friedrichshafen AG, to work on getting closer to an original version from the 1930s. The first prototypes have already been installed in the works vehicles of BMW Group Classic which will undergo endurance testing at a variety of driving events. BMW Classic is anticipating deliveries to customers at the end of this year or the beginning of 2013.
