Q The washers on my 745iL have just stopped working. I can hear the pump working and water is trickling from one jet only and not enough to get onto the screen. What do you think the problem is?

A It could be blocked washer jets in the wipers and if this is the case, we would fit two new ones as jets that are full of gunk often block up again and again. It may be that the washer-pipe to washer-jet connector has come off. If this is the case, reconnect it and try the washers. If it leaks from the joint then either fit a new connector, or cut the connector off, heat up the end of the pipe in hot water and carefully force the rubber pipe on. Another possibility is that the washer bottle is full of gunk. It’s inside the front wing with the arch liner removed and is a common problem.
