WIN! HARMAN KARDON SOUNDSTICKS 2.1 WIRELESS SPEAKERS

E39 Leather Seat Swap

MayQASwapQ. I have a 2002 E39 530 diesel with standard leather seats and I have recently acquired electric memory sport seats. Now, wiring them to get power is the easy bit, but I also want to be different and get the memory to work as well. Is it just a case of getting the wiring loom from the seats or are extra modules needed? I have seen on the internet people making up timers for the memory function to work but I don’t like this idea and want to keep it as stock as I can. Will I also need to get the car coded for the seats to work?

A. We couldn’t get an exact answer as we don’t know anybody who has done this. But it looks like the module for cars with electric seats is the same for those with or without memory, so it could just be a case of reprogramming the module.
